Ag Day at the Capitol

On February 9th, the Hawai’i Farm Bureau hosted Ag Day at the Hawaii State Capitol. The event was an opportunity for policymakers and the public to learn about Hawaii’s agriculture industry and meet many of the organizations and people who supply our communities with locally grown and produced products.

1 Donor Saves 3 Lives!

On Friday, February 24, 2023, 32 CTAHR students, faculty, staff, and greater University of Hawai’i at Manoa members donated blood to the Blood Bank of Hawai’i. The event was the largest Blood Drive this semester!

CTAHR started the new year with our January Cooking Show.  FSHN Instructor Lara Hackney led CTAHR students, faculty, alumni, and community members through recipes of kale salad, vegeterian chili, and corn bread.  If you'd like to catch up with Lara, check out the recording on CTAHR's YouTube Channel.  Join us next month, Friday, February 10th for our next cooking show.  Recipes and registration information coming soon.

CTAHR Alumni & Friends Hosts Kokedama Workshop

Our first ever Kokedama Workshop was a hit! On Sunday, January 22nd, the CTAHR Alumni Association & Friends hosted a workshop for 32 eager Alumni, students and community friends to learn how to create kokedama (English translation - moss ball).  Led by CTAHR Alumna, Aleta Corpuz, participants chose from an array of ornamental plants to gently mold and wrap into "no pot" style arrangements to take home.  Thanks to Aleta’s easy, “no worries” approach to the process, everyone was successful in their endeavor to create a beautiful, and functional, kokedama
