To kick off the Fall 2018 semester, CTAHR Advisors offered full-day walk-in advising from 8 am to 4 pm. This was to accommodate the large volume of students needing assistance with course selection, registration, and transfer into our CTAHR majors. During the short three days that the campus was open, August 20th through August 22nd, CTAHR Advisors met with a total of 94 students! It was a whirlwind of a week to start the term.
Walk-in advising will now be offered throughout the semester, three days a week. Started in the second week of instruction, CTAHR Advisors have adopted a new lunchtime walk-in advising schedule from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Walk-in advising is intended for students needing the following types of focused assistance: clarifying questions, registration assistance, certification of academic forms, and quick referrals. Advising by appointment will continue to be required for Mandatory Advising and for those who would like to engage in long-term academic planning and graduation projections.
CTAHR Advising is also happy to have a new Mānoa Peer Advisor (MPA) join the team, Rachel Roberts. Rachel is available to meet with all future (prospective) and current CTAHR undergraduate students who are of FRESHMEN or SOPHOMORE standing (0 - 45 credits earned).
