After serving in dual roles as Interim Dean and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at CTAHR since July of 2022, Interim Dean Wieczorek will now have only one job to focus on! Starting September 25, 2023, our Academic Affairs team will bid farewell to our fearless leader, who has mentored us since January 2017. Her unwavering commitment to serving our CTAHR students will never be forgotten and will continue under the new leadership of AD Catherine Chan.
We highlight a few milestones that exemplify AD Interim Ania Wieczorek’s work for CTAHR’s Academic and Student Affairs Office:
- The debut of our CTAHR Student Lounge is a space dedicated to CTAHR students to study and engage with their peers. The lounge also provides the following amenities for students: (1) a kitchenette, food pantry, and eating area to ensure open access to food for all CTAHR students, (2) an accessible computer and textbook library for students to use while in the lounge, and (3) a free printing station and WIFI access for students,
- Development of CTAHR’s Internship Program: This program initially aimed to increase student access to internships and leadership opportunities. In a dual beneficial role, this program has also served our stakeholders and community by assisting in their recruitment of new graduates to fulfill position openings.
- Increased CTAHR Alumni Engagement with a monthly newsletter, CTAHR Student & Alumni Mixers each semester, and re-energized CTAHR Alumni Association & Friends Board.
- Revamping of the CTAHR Showcase and Research Symposium. After receiving feedback from students, faculty, and staff, the focus of SRS expanded to encompass all the facets of the college and highlight the varied original projects carried out by our undergraduate and graduate students.
- Improvement of Key Metrics, including increased student enrollment, retention for first-year, full-time students, and increased scholarships awarded to CTAHR students.
- Program Innovation which leads to increased student engagement for prospective and current students and our alumni. These innovative programs include the Grow with Us Mentoring Program, Cooking Show with Professor Lara, CTAHR Day, Statewide Alumni BBQs, and more.
