Dietetics Supervised Program (SP)

Overview

Individualized Supervised Practice Pathway

This professional experience is designed to assist students in making the transition from the undergraduate dietetic curriculum to the world of the working professional.  Critical within this ISPP are the requirements for students to develop flexibility, initiative and resourcefulness, creative problem solving, and the ability to work well with others.  The ISPP also makes extensive use of technology.

Pathway to Registration Examination Eligibility

The UHM ISPP program fulfills step 2, outlined below, in the steps to becoming eligible for the registration examination for dietitians. The program provides 1000 hours (minimum) of supervised practice and upon successful completion, individuals are verified by the program director for eligibility to write for the RD exam. Alternative pathways for registration examination eligibility are available, visit the Commission on Dietetic Registration website (HERE) for more information on those pathways.
