Instructions for Submission of Application Materials

Spring 2023 Matching Cycle

Individuals interested in applying to the UHM ISPP program in the Spring of 2023 will submit all ISPP materials via DICAS (HERE). Applications are due April 14, 2023

Required Application Materials:

  • Spring 2023- all applications will be accepted via DICAS. The following will be required:
  • Resume/CV (PDF)
  • Personal Statement/Cover Letter addressing the following questions (1000 word limit, PDF)
    • Why do you want to enter the dietetics profession?
    • Discuss experiences that have helped you prepare for your career.
    • What are your short- and long-term goals?
    • What are your strengths and weaknesses or areas needing improvement?
    • What do you believe you can contribute to the UHM ISPP?
    • Why are you interested in participating in a Community focused UHM ISPP?
    • Discuss your commitment to working in Hawai'i or the Pacific after completion of the UHM ISPP.
    • What other information do you consider important for the selection decision?
  • Copy of Official Transcripts
  • DPD Verification Statement or Intent to Complete Form from an ACEND approved/accredited program.
  • Copy of DICAS application from previous most recent match cycle which applicant applied
  • Copy of D & D Digital dietetic internship results for most recent match cycle which applicant applied (must be within last 5 years).
  • Proof of admission or good standing in MS Nutritional Sciences program at UHM
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation-
    • One letter must be from the applicant’s DPD director or MNT instructor
    • One letter must be from a supervisor for a paid or volunteer Nutrition Experience
    • Please give careful consideration to people you ask to write your recommendation. To give your application the best chance in a competitive environment, it is important that the people who furnish your references know you and can attest to your abilities and accomplishments.
