New Faces: Hallie Cristobal

Welcome to Hallie Cristobal, who has joined the UH Cooperative Extension team in Kaua‘i County as a junior Extension agent in the department of Family and Consumer Science. Hallie grew up on the west side of Kaua‘i in Waimea. She has a BS in Health Promotion from Weber State University in Utah and is currently working online to get a Masters of Education from Capella University.

Hallie has a passion for community outreach and education. A longtime member of Kaua‘i County’s 4-H youth development Program, she recently worked as a health-promotion specialist for Ho‘ola Lahui Hawai‘i, a Native Hawaiian Community Health Center.

Hallie will provide Extension program leadership and coordination for intergenerational and youth-development programs (including 4-H and Family and Community Education). Her educational focus areas will incorporate healthy food systems, youth–adult partnerships, and nutrition and family programs.

She is looking forward to serving as a resource for Kaua‘i’s families, and interacting with the Garden Island’s youth and adult volunteers in the 4-H program. Contact Hallie in the Lihu‘e Extension Office at 808-274-3473 or at halliec@hawaii.edu
