Science Friday Fun
There’s a fun opportunity coming up for students who enjoy science and especially NPR’s Science Friday and who want to see a CTAHR professor in action. Ira Flato, host of Science Friday, is hosting an evening event at the Hawaii Theatre on July 6 at 7:30 p.m., featuring interviews with Melissa Price (NREM), Kim Binstead of UH Manoa's HI-SEAS (Hawaii Space Exploration Analog and Simulation), and another guest who will speak on biodiversity. Hawai‘i Public Radio is making a special price of $20 available to students ($10.50 for the ticket, plus fees). http://bit.ly/SciFriStudent. In exchange, they ask that the students post a few comments after the event on HPR’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/hawaiipublicradio/ or send them in an email to Phyllis Look, HPR’s director of marketing, at plook@hawaiipublicradio.org. Science Friday is a radio program that has been introducing top scientists and sharing entertaining stories about science with public radio listeners for the last 25 years. Independently produced by the Science Friday Initiative, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the public’s access to science and scientific information, the weekly program is distributed to 374 stations across the U.S.
