Renaissance Agent

Molokaʻi Extension welcomes Marshall Joy

He’s a man of many talents: educator, Hawaiian culture practitioner, farmer, master archer, Boy Scout instructor, certified videographer, and longtime member of the Molokaʻi community. Marshall Joy can add ‘Junior Extension Agent’ to that list as he joins the CTAHR Extension team to oversee the Molokaʻi Farm-to-School program.

Raised on a Hawaiian Homes farm in Hoʻolehua, Marshall received his master’s degree in Education Curriculum and Instruction from UHM, and holds a professional degree in Health and Physical Education. A regular participant in Extension workshops and field days, he is a past president of the Hawaiʻi Fruit Growers-Molokaʻi Chapter.

“Marshall understands the Land Grant mission and is actively involved in the Molokaʻi farming community,” says Extension agent Glenn Teves. “His familiarity with and connections to Molokaʻi’s K-12 schools will be an important asset as he develops and expands the island-wide Farm-to-School program.”
