Giving Thanks for Traditions

The annual Hawai‘i County CTAHR Thanksgiving Lu‘au tradition has been revived for the first time in about a decade, thanks to the staff at the Komohana Research and Extension Center and retired Sea Grant agent Howard Takata. CTAHR staff came together to fire up the imu at Howard’s residence and cooked a veritable feast worthy of the tradition. CTAHR and USDA staff from new to retired came together with friends, family, and some special guests including Richard Ha and Dave Chun to celebrate community and the holidays. The whole experience was a great team-building exercise for the planning committee, led by Eli Isele, Mike DuPonte, and Russell Galanti. It was valuable and rewarding to bring everybody together and be thankful for great coworkers and community. A hui hou!
