Every year the Maui County Administrator identifies those who have gone above and beyond their typical job-related duties to help Maui County be successful.
On Sunday, December 8, over 35,000 participants ran, walked, or rolled across the finish line at the 52nd Annual Honolulu Marathon. Proud CTAHR-ians, including staff, students and alumni, were among the finishers who persevered through the 26.2 mile course.
The next CTAHR ʻOhana Banquet is set for Friday, April 12, 2024, during which 11 Dean’s Awards for Excellence will be presented. Some of these awards begin with a nomination process – and that’s where YOU can be instrumental in helping the college recognize the truly special and exemplary efforts among our faculty, staff, students and volunteers. Visit the Banquet page to view past recipients.
The last year has been an especially challenging one for Maui County, and even more so for Molokaʻi, due to Ag Tech and Secretary shortages, fiscal purchasing barriers, theft of equipment, difficult neighbors, the search and addition of two new faculty, an unsigned lease with DHHL, transitional leadership within CTAHR, and last but not least, the sudden UHMC commitment changes related to the Molokaʻi Farm, which led CTAHR to vacate the farm and consolidate our efforts at our office location.
The Hawai’i Sea Grant center was awarded a Bronze Telly Award for educational institution programming for its episode on some CTAHR programs and faculty. This episode of Voice of the Sea explores traditional farming practices, indigenous plants, and chemicals in the aquatic environment and their effects on food fishes.
