Free events for public benefit aren’t only for the community, you know. CTAHR faculty, staff, alumni, and students are welcome, too!

On Thursday, Oct. 20, starting at 3:00 p.m. at the Urban Garden Center, join Extension as they host visitors for an afternoon of sharing and networking as they discuss gardening in the islands.

  • Learn about edible crops CTAHR has tested and had success with across the islands
  • Take home plant samples with superior horticultural characteristics from UH field trials and plants carefully selected from CTAHR gardens and research stations
  • Gain seed-saving and plant-propagation tips;
  • Talk with scientists about flowering plants that attract beneficial insects;
  • Share ideas with 4-H about healing garden projects for school gardens;
  • Meet with faculty, staff, Master Gardeners, volunteers, and other gardeners;
  • Bring your gardening questions for industry experts;
  • See some of the active projects at the Urban Garden Center;

Space and supplies are limited, so Register today. Wear shoes, bring water, and prepare for rain or shine. Bring a soda box to hold your valuable plant materials.
