For the Birds
Melissa Price (NREM, left) was one of the scientists who participated in the live broadcast of Hawai‘i Public Radio’s
Science Friday
that was filmed at the Hawaii Theatre Center in Honolulu, “First Take With
Science Friday
.” She discussed efforts to engage schoolchildren with science and conservation efforts, including her recent
Symphony of the Hawaiian Birds
. The gorgeous production brought together artists, musicians, ecologists, and educators to introduce elementary-school students to the beauty and the environmental, historical, and cultural importance of Hawaiian native bird species.
