Normally celebrated at the CTAHR Annual Banquet, this year’s Dean’s Award recipients will be honored here, on your laptops and tablets, and with their names carved into the plaques that adorn Gilmore Hall.

2020 Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching

Marie Kainoa Fialkowski Revilla

Kainoa is an associate professor in the Department of Human Nutrition, Food and Animal Sciences. She teaches FSHN 370: Lifespan Nutrition, and FSHN 389: Nutritional Assessment, every semester during the academic year, as well as courses during the summer for the Children’s Healthy Living Summer Institute.

CTAHR Dean Nicholas Comerford says, “Dr. Marie Kainoa Fialkowski Revilla is part of the highly respected Children’s Healthy Living research program and an expert in human nutrition. She is receiving the 2020 Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching because of her efforts in both online and face-to-face teaching environments that bring her experiences and knowledge to life with her students.”

“Kainoa is dedicated to creating educational materials and curricula that deliver nutrition in an accessible, culturally framed, and place-based format,” adds Interim Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs Ania Wieczorek.
