Welcome to Matthew Chun-Hori, who is the office of Planning and Management Services’ new IT manager, taking over for Elsie Kawahara. He is leading the department in helping employees who need to work remotely, along with ASAO’s Kellie Taguchi. Matt, who graduated with a degree in IT from UH, gained experience in management with a gaming company in the private sector before coming to CTAHR in 2012. The Hawaii Farm Bureau is working with Foodland to provide its member farmers and ranchers who have been impacted by COVID-19 with a retail market to sell their fresh produce and products. Foodland is interested in purchasing locally grown produce and products (such as meats, eggs, and dairy) from farms of all sizes on all islands. With 32 stores statewide, Foodland and has reached out to Hawaii Farm Bureau to assist local farmers and ranchers during this difficult time.

In keeping with UH directives and with recommendations from major health organizations that people avoid large face-to-face gatherings and events, the decision has been made to cancel this year’s CTAHR Banquet. This event, which celebrates the achievements of outstanding members of the college and its supporters, has brought the CTAHR ‘ohana together with community partners and stakeholders for 31 years, and it will continue to do so for many more to come.
