Hands-on, real work experience
The internship course is a mandatory four-credit class and restricted to FDM majors in senior standing. Students are advised to take the course in their final semester. In this course, students are guided in the creation of their senior portfolio, and will deliver an oral presentation.
The internship assessment is conducted by the internship and program faculty at the end of the semester. The internship assessment is an evaluation of the student's success in meeting the requirements of the internship course and in accomplishing Student Learning Outcomes 8 and 9 of the FDM instructional program. These outcomes concern global skills in communication, analysis and problem-solving, business management and human relations skills, and in understanding and practicing professional and ethical behaviors.
