Paychecks Will Be Mailed if You Don’t Have Direct Deposit

Here’s an important announcement from the UH Disbursing Office: effective March 30, the University must have your current mailing address on record, because if you are not signed up for direct deposit for your payroll or e-payments for reimbursements, any hard-copy checks (reimbursements, paychecks, etc.) will be mailed directly to the employee’s address on record. All physical checks will be processed and mailed ONLY on Mondays and Thursdays.

UH Extension Offices and Research Stations

CTAHR’s Cooperative Extension Offices and Research Stations across the state remain open—virtually. All sites are closed to the public, but you may continue your work with Extension agents contacting them via email or phone. Established CTAHR volunteers are permitted to continue their ongoing efforts at Extension facilities by working individually and practicing social distancing along CDC guidelines.

Bountiful Adaptations

How Polynesians adapted their agricultural strategies to patterns in biogeochemical processes on Hawai’i Island, and the long-term impact of different forms of agriculture on soil properties, are the subjects of a new study by Noa Lincoln of CTAHR’s Department of Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences. The study has received a five-year, $825,000 award CAREER award from the National Science Foundation.
