Noa Lincoln, of CTAHR’s Department of Tropical Plants and Soil Sciences, and Nathanial Wehr, of our Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, are co-authors of a new article published in the prestigious journal Science about the importance of earthworms in biosystems—and the necessity for studying these wriggly creatures so we can keep those biosystems healthy.

The search is underway to fill important positions on Kaua‘i and O‘ahu

In CTAHR, each county has its own administrator, who operates and maintains research stations and Extension offices, supervises clerical staff and research station farm managers, and organizes faculty and staff in that county toward accomplishing the college’s mission. After the recent retirements of Ray Uchida and Russell Messing, the search is now underway to fill this position on Kaua‘i and O‘ahu.

Participate in an HDFS workshop demystifying dementia

Failing memory, disorientation, and the other symptoms of dementia and Alzheimer’s can be as hard on family members and other loved ones as they are on those with the disease. Michael Cheang, associate professor at Human Development and Family Studies, will present a workshop on different strategies to communicate more effectively with elders who have Alzheimer’s disease and explain similarities and differences between dementia and Alzheimer’s.
