To provide exceptional transdisciplinary education, research, and extension in tropical agriculture, natural resources, and human well-being to local and global communities. 

 

UGC VISION STATEMENT 

An educated community, healthy population, and sustainable food system and environment strengthens the well-being and economic development of the people of Hawai‘i. 

 

Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (except holidays). All visitors must check in at the Main Office. Self tours are no longer offered due to staffing shortages. 


**Garden is closed on Thursdays due to herbicide applications. Please call (808) 453-6050 before visiting.

  • Soil: Various soil types, with 6.5 to 7.2 pH
  • Rainfall: Average 20 inches per year, predominantly in March and November
