3. The prospective recipient should be a student of the Animal Sciences Program in the Department of Human Nutrition, Food and Animal Sciences (HNFAS).
4. The prospective recipient should have the emphasis or intent to specialize in Preference shall be given to students with an expressed interest in sustainable dairy or other livestock production.

The prospective recipient should have the following special circumstances in the event there is no longer a program in Animal Sciences at CTAHR, then the award may be given to a student in an agricultural program that has a livestock component and addresses sustainability. All other criteria shall be adhered to.
