Nearly half of Hawaiʻi farmers under age 46 report depression – which reflects the high-stress environment they must contend with on a daily and seasonal basis, complete with risks and uncertainties, volatile markets, fluctuating weather, invasive species, and the list goes on.

Because of these individuals, CTAHR Cooperative Extension is improving people’s lives, economies, communities. 

Bring your eye for flair and impeccable sense of taste to UH Campus Center Ballroom at 5:30pm for the 58th annual UHM fashion show! The event will provide invaluable experience and training for the FDM students involved and will give them the opportunity of presenting their work and accomplishments in the program to the public and members of the business community. 

In her lifetime, the Japanese fashion designer Hanae Mori was the only Asian person to be accepted by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode – the French organization that governs haute couture fashion.

The 2023 Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching goes to Sothy Eng of the Dept. of Family and Consumer Sciences. The award is a testament to Sothy’s dedication, passion, and positive impact he’s had on students and broader educational community. His commitment to fostering an environment of learning and innovative teaching methods have not gone unnoticed.
