HDFS (FamR) alumna Esther Yasuda didn’t return to college until she was 29, but once she started, she was hooked: she just graduated this summer with a master’s degree in Education from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon. In addition to working on her master’s, she took a position with a non-profit organization working with youth and senior citizens in Kalihi; now she works with the YMCA of Honolulu as an outreach treatment counselor for middle-school students...
East Hawai‘i 4-H had a huge presence at the Hawai‘i County Fair—both as volunteers and producers. In fact, they set four state records for produce—including a 20+ pound kalo and 137+ and 2+ pound tomato.
Kichang Han will focus on new textile products appropriate for local and tourist markets as a visiting scholar in Fashion Design and Merchandising. He is an expert on digital textile printing, color imaging, and traditional Korean and Indian dyeing techniques.
Na Lima A Me Na Pu‘uwai O Kohala 4-H Club families and community sponsors celebrated their new riding pen with a horse show, barbecue and other activities.
