Outstanding Service – APT

This CTAHR Dean’s Award honors administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or equivalent employees for exceptional work. Awardees receive $500 and a framed certificate.

Eligibility: Current full-time APT or equivalent employees who have been employed in CTAHR for at least 12 consecutive months and who have not received the award within the past 5 years.

Required documents: To be considered, nominations must include the following:

  • A letter of nomination that describes the nominee’s outstanding activities, accomplishments, and contributions to his/her unit, and
  • At least 2 additional letters of support.

Letters are limited to 2 pages. At least 1 must be from the nominee’s immediate supervisor.

Deadline: Feb. 12, 2018

Selection: Selection is made by a committee appointed by the CTAHR Director of Administrative Services and drawn from former recipients, supervisors, and Civil Service/APT employees. Evaluation is based on but not limited to evidence of the following:

  • Outstanding contributions to program efficiency and attainment of its objectives;
  • Exceptional performance resulting in material improvements to the services of the program;
  • Record of exceptional competence, sustained efficiency, integrity, and dedication to the mission of the program;
  • Application of creative solutions to address difficult problems; and
  • Active interest and participation in departmental and/or college affairs.

Note: The selection committee is not required to make an award if it deems there is no suitable candidate based on the documentation provided.

Ka Pouhana Mentor Award

This award recognizes outstanding support of student learning and development through co-curricular activities. Awardees receive a certificate and $1,500, which can be used at their discretion for instruction-related activities.

Eligibility: Current full-time CTAHR faculty members and lecturers. Nominations are accepted from self, faculty, students, or others.

Required documents: To be considered, nominations must include the following:

  • The Ka Pouhana Nomination Form;
  • At least 3 letters of support describing the nominee’s contribution(s) to and support of CTAHR student organization(s) or co-curricular activities, showing how students have benefited from these actions; and
  • A description of the student organization(s).

Ka Hana Po‘okela Award

This award honors CTAHR students for outstanding contributions to CTAHR student organizations and/or to the community through a CTAHR organization.

Eligibility: Active members of CTAHR student organizations. Individuals may receive the award more than once. Nominations are accepted from self, students, faculty, and others.

Required documents: To be considered, nominations must include the following:

  • The Ka Hana Po‘okela Nomination Form;
  • A statement describing the nominee’s contribution(s) to a CTAHR student organization or the community and how their participation has benefited the club or community; and
  • At least 2 nomination letters.

Deadline: Feb. 12, 2018
