Running for the Cause
At dawn on July 4th, David Christopher (MBBE) joined more than 350 other runners to run the 2018 “Freedom Run 5K” to raise funds for epilepsy education, treatment, and research. Runners collected donations and ran a hilly course through Kailua’s Enchanted Lakes region. The Epilepsy Foundation of Hawaii leads the fight to stop seizures, find a cure, and overcome the challenges created by epilepsy. The goal is to end suffering from seizures in the nearly four percent of Americans who will develop epilepsy at some point in their lives. The Foundation hosts two annual fundraisers, one on July 4th at the Kailua High School and the other, “Sharon's Ride, Run and Walk,” in January. David placed 9th overall, with a time of 21:24! Way to go, and way to do good!
