Maui County presents 2023 Administrator Awards

The last year has been an especially challenging one for Maui County, and even more so for Molokaʻi, due to Ag Tech and Secretary shortages, fiscal purchasing barriers, theft of equipment, difficult neighbors, the search and addition of two new faculty, an unsigned lease with DHHL, transitional leadership within CTAHR, and last but not least, the sudden UHMC commitment changes related to the Molokaʻi Farm, which led CTAHR to vacate the farm and consolidate our efforts at our office location.

Three candidates will visit in October and November

The search for a new CTAHR dean is on, and the CTAHR ‘ohana are encouraged to participate and meet the finalists during their visits. At the invitation of UH Provost Bruno, the three candidates will visit the Mānoa campus October 25-27, November 6-8, and November 15-17.

MBBE prof is inducted at ACS ceremony

When Qing X. Li joined the Dept. of Molecular Biosciences & BioEngineering in 1995, he wanted to tackle agricultural chemistry issues relevant to Hawaiʻi. In his case, this meant a research focus on chemical proteomics, phytopharmaceuticals, food chemistry and safety, pesticide chemistry, and environmental monitoring and remediation.
