Then submit your jack ‘o lantern to the Food Science and Human Nutrition Council’s 1st Locally-Grown Pumpkin Carving Contest! All UHM students are welcome to join, and all entries are due now until 10/26.
“The council recognizes the food system is an important component of nutrition and health, and choosing locally grown produce supports the community and promotes food security,” says FSHN president and dietetics undergrad Gemady Langfelder. “We're holding a pumpkin carving contest to support local agricultural businesses, especially farms that produce pumpkin, since they can’t do pumpkin patch tours right now.”
Gemady adds, “It’s easy to enter: purchase a locally grown pumpkin, unleash your creativity with a spooky/funny/unique design, and submit a photo. Thank you for joining us in supporting our local Ag businesses!”
