You probably know Andre Seale as a foremost authority on fish endocrinology and physiology, or as the 2023 recipient of the CTAHR Dean’s “Ka Pouhana” Mentor Award for Excellence.

But the life aquatic with this professor in the Dept. of Human Nutrition, Food & Animal Sciences also refers to the many, many hours he’s spent underwater as an expert scuba diver and award-winning wildlife photographer.

From now thru November 24, Andre’s breathtaking shots are on display at the ARTS at Marks Garage. The artwork exhibit is open each Tuesday-Saturday, 12:00-5:00 pm. The event is open to the public. So don’t miss it!

Andre’s collection of underwater images and digital art are part of a Marine and Coastal Scientists as Artists event organized by the UH Sea Grant program, which features 30 artists across universities and colleges in Hawaiʻi. Proceeds of any sales of Andre’sartwork displayed at the exhibit will be donated to the UH Foundation MAUI fund.

Included in the exhibit is a Science by the Sea Seminar Series. HNFAS Nutritional Sciences graduate assistant Tyler Goodearly will provide a public talk about his research on reproduction and aquaculture of Hawaiian sea cucumbers. The talk by Tyler, who is working toward his PhD degree under Andre’s mentorship, will take place Nov. 13, 6:00 p.m. at ARTS at Marks Garage in downtown Honolulu.
