Accepted for Exhibition

Congrats to Leah Aoki, a senior in the Dept. of Family and Consumer Sciences, Fashion Design and Merchandising program! 

A garment designed by Leah was accepted by the International Textile and Apparel Association, and will be presented at the ITAA’s annual conference this November in Baltimore. The garment went through a rigorous blind-review process in which the acceptance rate for the undergraduate category this year was a mere 28%.  

“I am very excited to present one of my original pieces at the ITAA this coming November,” says Leah. She also thanks her mentor and advisor, Professor Minako McCarthy, and the entire FDM ʻohana.
