Get Food, Give Food

Students in need of food will be glad to know that, despite the disruptions to campus life, the UH Mānoa Food Vault Hawai’i is still open. Established in 2019 after CTAHR’s Joannie Dobbs (HNFAS) and her students spearheaded a UHM Food Insecurity Survey, which found that many students were going hungry, it has offered monthly “food drops” that have given away more than 6,000 pounds of food in just a couple of hours.

To maintain social distancing, distribution is now by appointment only. Fill out this form to make an appointment for pick-up. Bring your UH Mānoa student ID and your own bag.

To donate monetarily to the Food Vault, please visit the UH Foundation. You can also message the Vault at their Facebook page to inquire about donating food directly.

Here’s more background information about the Food Vault. The hours and access may have changed due to the outbreak, but their mission and dedication carry on!
