On Friday. February 23, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Richard Criley (TPSS) will present a seminar entitled “Alpinia to Zingiber—the Commercial Zingiberales.” The Zingiberales include many popular tropical plants, including ornamentals such as flowering ginger and heliconia, food plants like banana and plantain, and medicinals such as ginger root and ‘olena. Definitely a family of plants with something for everyone! The live talk takes place in St. John 011, but remote users can also
join in using Zoom. Faculty, researchers, and students are all welcome.
