He ʻAʻaliʻi Kū Makani: Resilience Through Innovation

The 2025 CTAHR Conference, “He ʻAʻaliʻi Kū Makani: Resilience Through Innovation,” succeeded far beyond our expectations, thanks to the support of our CTAHR community. We welcomed more than 260 students, faculty, staff, alumni, and stakeholders to the Conference and Closing Reception and raised $35,000.

We are grateful for the keynote remarks from Dr. Mehana Vaughan and her panelists, Dr. Aukahi Austin Seabury, Wahinepōʻaimoku Nahale-a, Lilia Davis, and Olivia Boucher, as well as the discussion on “Effectively Communicating Science,” led by Dr. Amy Hubbard, UH Mānoa’s Interim Assistant Vice Provost for Student Academic Success.

The keynotes and many other insightful presentations throughout the Conference embodied our commitment to resilience in all its forms — from strengthening food systems to improving community well-being to protecting natural resources.

This conference was made possible by the generous support from our sponsors: CTAHR Alumni Association and Friends, Bayer, Green Point Nurseries, Adela’s Country Eatery, Corteva, Dole, the Hawaiʻi State Department of Agriculture, Ulupono Initiative, and Kualoa Ranch.

Our industry partners played a key role in the event through donations and in-kind support: Hawaiʻi Farm Bureau, Maui Farm Bureau, and the Hawaiʻi Floriculture and Nursery Association.

The Conference is one of our signature events, renewing our dedication to continue working toward a more resilient Hawaiʻi. We look forward to seeing you at future CTAHR events.
