Kent Kobayashi has been in the Dept. of Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences for more than 40 years. Throughout his career, he has attended the annual conference of the American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS), which this year will be held at Hilton Hawaiian Village, September 23-27.
In a 2023 interview at last year’s ASHS conference, Kent highlights how participating in the yearly event has supported his professional growth as he has shared his research, learned about horticulture’s latest technological advances, and built relationships with colleagues from the U.S. mainland and around the world. He especially encourages students and postdoctoral researchers to explore horticulture’s horizons at the conference.
