Root-knot Nematodes

Scientific Name: Meloidogyne spp.

Disease Type: Pest

Plants Affected:

Lettuce, Tomato, Eggplant, Coffee, Awa, Noni, and String Bean

Symptom:

Bumpy "knots" form on roots
Poor growth, stunting, and wilting of leaves

Control:

Plant cover crops (i.e. Sunnhemp, Marigolds) that reduce nematode populations
Remove infected plants from area
