Black Spot

Scientific Name: Cercospora papayae

 

Disease Type: Fungus

 

Plants Affected:

Papaya, mango, rose

 

Symptom:

  • Black spots on underside of leaves and surface of fruit

 

Control:

  • Decrease surface wetness of leaves and fruit-- avoid overhead sprinklers
  • Use appropriate fungicides (i.e. Sodium bicarbonate, horticultural oils)
