Safe, sanitary computer lab opens in Ag Sci building

CTAHR’s new Computer Lab is available to students beginning March 27. Located in the Agricultural Science Building, Room 215, it will be open 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Each station allows a safe 6-foot distance from the next user. The computer lab will provide a printer and offer several of the features available at the CTAHR Student Lounge in Gilmore Hall, which will be closing.

Volunteers are needed to make N95-adaptable masks

Healthcare workers are America’s frontline fighters in the war against COVD-19—but their supplies are getting desperately low. You can join CTAHR’s Department of Family and Consumer Sciences in helping to make washable, reusable masks that disposable N95 filters can be inserted in, which can significantly help protect the medical community and others who work with vulnerable populations.

Fermentation Biochemistry students distill alcohol into hand sanitizer...home brewers can help!

Desperate times call for imaginative measures. Instead of making rum and ginger beer, students in CTAHR’s Molecular Biosciences and Bioengineering (MBBE) department are using the knowledge theyʻve gained in their Fermentation Biochemistry class to distill hand sanitizer.

Students attend fashion trade show

A handful of lucky Fashion Design and Merchandising students travelled to attend Magic, the premier couture and fashion industry event held yearly in Las Vegas. FDM professor Andy Reilly escorted the students, who got to see lavish displays, attend seminars, and meet and mingle with some of fashion’s brightest stars.
