Shu-Hwa Lin and Ju-Young Kang (FCS/FDM) have co-authored a paper recently published in the Journal of Textile Engineering & Fashion Technology, “Fitting Simulation Evaluation on Personalized Avatars,” that examines visualization of fit of garment designs on generic and personalized virtual avatars.
Loriena Yancura’s (FCS) CSREES Multistate project, “Rural Families Speak About Health,” has just published a special issue summarizing publications and findings from the project. Lori is co-author of the article “Understanding Family Well-Being in the Context of Rural Poverty: Lessons from the Rural Families Project.”
Hosted by PEPS, Dr. Larry Duncan will present two seminars, “Natural History Informing Nematode IPM in Citrus Orchards” on March 15 and “It Takes a Village: Conservation of Entomopathogenic Nematodes” on March 16, both from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
One of the members of the CTAHR ‘ohana to be honored at this year’s Awards Banquet will be nematologist Gerald Santo, the 2018 Outstanding Alumnus, who saved Pacific Northwest farmers millions of dollars and improved crop yields with cultural practices and nematicides that control nematode infestations in the soil.
