The FCS guest speaker series welcomes Ali Amer Taha Al-Hindawi, an Iraqi refugee who is currently working at the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland, who will be giving several talks. He has conducted workshops and given seminars internationally on interfaith harmony, global cultural diversity, and breast cancer.

Don’t miss FDM’s annual spring fashion show, EN ROUTE, which will be held on April 29 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the UHM Campus Center Ballroom. EN ROUTE is the 52nd Annual Spring Fashion Show, and the latest contribution to over a hundred years of fashion at UHM!

This is a friendly reminder that CTAHR undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students who are graduating in the Spring 2018 semester OR the Summer 2018 session need to RSVP for the CTAHR Convocation, which is on May 2 at 6:00 p.m. (check-in at 5:45p) at Kennedy Theatre.

MBBE faculty candidate Joonil Seog will be presenting teaching and research seminars, so come and give feedback! On Monday, April 23, from 2:15 to 3:45 p.m., he will give a teaching seminar in St. John 011, and on Tuesday, April 24, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m., he will give a research seminar in Ag. Sci 219.

Extension forester and winner of CTAHR’s 2018 Award for Excellence in Extension J.B. Friday (NREM) is quoted in a UH News story announcing that the two species of fungus that are causing Rapid ‘Ohi‘a Death, or ROD, have been described and named in a recently published paper.
