Over 40 participants attended Swine AI School, put on by Extension agent Mike DuPonte, specialist Halina Zaleski (HNFAS), and MS student Brittany Castle in Hilo, and a swine time was had by all!

Michael Kantar (TPSS) was quoted in a recent article in The Atlantic discussing a new study about nitrogen fixation in a particular variety of corn. Michael praised the study but pointed out that it doesn’t necessarily support the authors’ hope that other varieties of corn can be bred to have similar nitrogen-fixing properties.

Sothy will be teaching Family Resiliency and Community Development courses, while helping to develop food systems for resilient families and communities in Hawai‘i, Cambodia, and across the Pacific.
