Sustainable Swine
Rajesh Jha (HNFAS) recently offered a training course on “Feed and Nutrition Management” for a group of young ethnic-minority farmers in Nepal. This technical-assistance assignment was funded by USAID and coordinated by Winrock International. During this training, he provided knowledge and hands-on skills on utilizing local feedstuffs and food waste as a sustainable source of feed for swine. The topics he covered included feed formulation and processing and feeding management for different groups of pigs, in order to foster quality pork production. Rajesh previously also served as a “Volunteer Expert” for similar assignments in Myanmar and Nepal covering different aspect of pig production.
