Happy Holidays from the Dept. of Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences!
The TPSS Graduate Student Organization (GSO), together with Assistant Researcher Orville Baldos and his TPSS 364 Horticulture students, have decided they won’t let the pandemic ruin Christmas.
So six months ago, they planted poinsettia cuttings in hopes of continuing the department’s annual poinsettia sale, also gaining hands-on experience in flower production – all while practicing safe physical distancing.
“It's nearing Christmas season and everybody knows what that means: Poinsettia Sales!” says PhD student Jaclyn Nicole Uy. “Despite the difficult circumstances, our undergrads and grad students have strived to bring you cheer and normalcy through their poinsettias – so come support us!!!”
Please online pre-order now thru Venmo to reserve your flowers. The students will host a drive-in and pick-up at the Magoon Research Facility driveway. Each customer will be allowed 10-15 minutes to come pick up their plants.
