Find out more about Alzheimer’s disease at a Zoom seminar sponsored by the Dept. of Molecular Bioscience and Bioengineering today! Dr. Can (Martin) Zhang will present “Therapeutic Development for Alzheimer’s Disease,” on Friday, June 5, at 10 a.m. Join the Zoom meeting here.
Dr. Zhang is an assistant professor of Neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on β-amyloid-related molecular mechanisms and compounds in Alzheimer’s disease, particularly the potential to offer a better understanding of and intervention into Alzheimer’s. He also studies molecular mechanisms underlying diabetes-related neuropathic pain and aging-related biomarkers, including Sirt1.
In this seminar, Dr. Zhang will talk about several promising and recently discovered biomaterials and compounds in his preclinical translational program, including elastin-like proteins, γ-secretase modulators and cromolyn.
