Judges of Greatness

Preparations for the 2019 Student Research Symposium are going great! This year’s SRS will be on April 15 from 8:00 to 1:30 and will include breakfast, presentations, and lunch.

In an effort to promote student research accomplishments to the broader community, as well as to provide a unique platform for students to test their communication skills, the SRS is being transformed into a new format, focused on communicating to a general audience.

A total of 20 undergraduate and 44 graduate students, from all the different academic programs, will compete for top prizes in five categories: Healthy Families & Resilient Communities; Product Design & Business; Biotechnology, Sustainability, & Conservation; and Food Systems, Security, & Safety.

What’s needed now is judges! There are not yet enough judges to judge all of the presentations. The SRS depends on the support of faculty and staff. If you have not volunteered to judge yet, please do! It would also be great to have some judges drawn from the community and the college’s stakeholders. If you have any connection or suggestion for outside judges, please let Jon-Paul Bingham know as soon as possible at jbingham@hawaii.edu.
