What does CTAHR look through the eyes of its amazing students? Find out through the CTAHR Photo Contest! The theme is “What does CTAHR mean to you?” Students are invited to submit photos highlighting their experiences and activities throughout their academic career in CTAHR in the lab, in the field, working in the college’s programs, or enjoying a memorable moment at a CTAHR event.

Preparations for the 2019 Student Research Symposium are going great! This year’s SRS will be on April 15 from 8:00 to 1:30 and a total of 20 undergraduate and 44 graduate students, from all the different academic programs, will compete for top prizes. What’s needed now is judges! If you have not yet volunteered to judge, please do!

‘Opihi are not known to be noisy creatures. But the ‘opihi lab went from quiet to loud in a millisecond when Anthony Mau welcomed the Punahou School kindergarteners on their February 27 field trip to CTAHR. For his dissertation under Jon-Paul Bingham, Mau is developing ‘opihi aquaculture methods that can support commercial production of both captive and wild populations.

FDM faculty Minako McCarthy accompanied 10 FDM students to the twice-yearly couture trade show extravaganza MAGIC 2019 in Las Vegas. Students attended  seminars with speakers from Cotton Inc, Tukatech, Volcom, American Apparel, Pantone, WGSN, and many others. This was a great educational trip for them, giving inspiration for their future creations and projects as well as plenty of information about the industry.
