We are saddened to report that former CTAHR Animal Sciences faculty member Anastacio Palafox passed away on March 24 at 103. He was the first faculty member of Filipino ancestry at UHM, retiring in 1984 after 36 years of service.

If you haven’t yet registered for this year’s Awards Banquet, now’s the time to do it! You’ll get the chance to eat, drink, and be merry, and you can also applaud this year’s awardees, including CTAHR’s 2018 Outstanding Alumnus, Glenn Muranaka, the president and general manager of Meadow Gold Dairies.

Printed copies of many CTAHR publications will be available for free during a one-day-only “Pubs-aganza” on Thursday, April 19 at Gilmore Hall 119 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Specialist Marianne Berry (COF) brings her expertise to the Center on the Family’s Brown Bag seminar series with a presentation entitled “Innovative Strategies to Improve Child Protection Outcomes in Hawai‘i.” The talk will be in Miller Hall Room 2, at 12 noon on Friday, April 20.

The FCS guest speaker series welcomes Ali Amer Taha Al-Hindawi, an Iraqi refugee who is currently working at the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland, who will be giving several talks. He has conducted workshops and given seminars internationally on interfaith harmony, global cultural diversity, and breast cancer.
