Familiar Faces in New Places: Russell Galanti

CTAHR alumnus Russell Galanti, of cacao-pod-carving fame (below, right), has joined O‘ahu Cooperative Extension as a junior Extension agent working with the ornamental landscaping, nursery crop, and floriculture industries.

Russell has a master’s degree from TPSS in sustainable production and management of macadamia nut in Hawai‘i. He has worked in the green industry in landscape nurseries, production facilities, and public and private gardens for more than 15 years, and previously for CTAHR as a graduate assistant and then as research support. He focuses on horticulture practices, soil science and soil amendments, and plant physiology.

His Extension experience working with public- and private-sector personnel, including researchers, specialists, Extension agents, farmer-training programs, and local growers throughout Hawai‘i, makes him a great addition to O‘ahu Cooperative Extension. If you want to give Russell a welcome, you can email him at rgalanti@hawaii.edu.
