For decades, the Fashion Design and Merchandising program of the Dept. of Family and Consumer Sciences has been providing UH students with the knowledge and skills needed for careers in apparel and fashion-related fields. Held annually, FDM’s fashion show is a culmination of the students’ creativity and a celebration of work well done.
So set your calendar for Sunday, April 30, when our students and models will strut their stuff on the catwalk. The tentative venue is the Hawaiʻi Convention Center.
“The 56th fashion show last year was a small-scale outdoor fashion, partly due to COVID-19 restrictions; however, many people including UH president Davis Lassner, attended and supported the event,” says Minako McCarthy. “For this year, the number of design students has increased to nine seniors and 12 juniors! All will showcase their designs for all to enjoy and take inspiration from!”
