Susan Miyasaka and John Hu are conferred titles upon retirement

Congrats to Susan Miyasaka of the Dept. of Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences and John Hu of the Dept. of Plant andEnvironmental Protection Sciences. Last month, UH president David Lassner conferred upon them the titles of Researcher Emerita and Researcher Emeritus, respectively, of University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, in recognition of the dedicated and honorable service they have rendered.

“On behalf of the Board of Regents and members of UHM,” he continued, “I join them in applauding you and thanking you for your distinguished service. Your contributions to your discipline and to UHM have enriched the lives of your students, fellow faculty members, and helped to build the reputation of UHM as a world-class university.”

Catherine Chan of CTAHR’s Academic and Student Affairs Office adds, “We extend all of CTAHR’s congratulations and thank Susan and John for the excellent service they provided. They are exemplary faculty that helped our agricultural industry immensely.”
