ADSC: Closed for Remodeling

The Agricultural Diagnostic Service Center (ADSC) will be closed from Wednesday, June 10, through Monday, July 13. The ADSC, located in Sherman Laboratory, is entering a major phase of HVAC construction work. Currently the entire second floor is sealed off with a ventilation system, along with a chute and dumpster for construction debris.

Please note: The last day for the ADSC to receive samples is Wednesday, June 10, 2020, and no exceptions will be made. Please do not wait till June 8 or 9 to mail in samples, since they may not get there in time. The office will not handle any samples received after this date. The ADSC will tentatively reopen on Monday, July 13, 2020. During the closure and construction, the UH Seed Laboratory may not be able to receive and fill seed orders.

Brian Bushe, at CTAHR’s Komohana Research and Extension Center, is still receiving and analyzing disease, insect pest, and nematode samples, from Hawai‘i Island growers only.

CTAHR’s Agricultural Diagnostic Service Center is a service unit that conducts analyses and diagnostic tests for the people and businesses of Hawai‘i:

  • plant disease analyses
  • feed and forage analyses
  • insect identification analyses
  • chemical analyses of soils
  • chemical analyses of plant tissue
  • chemical analyses of water and nutrient solutions.
  • Note: pesticide residue analysis is conducted by CTAHR’s Dept. of Molecular Biosciences and Bioengineering.
