Science Women of the Future

Women are still underrepresented in science fields, but here’s an event that’s working to change that. Sacred Hearts Academy is offering a great opportunity for girls in high school and college to network with STEM professionals in an interactive format! Registration is now open for the 2nd Annual STEM Symposium 4 GIRLS, which aims to inspire students to embrace science, technology, engineering, and math!

  • Date: Saturday, February 16
  • Time: 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Location: Sacred Hearts Academy

STEM Symposium students will have the opportunity to register for three sessions in which they will hear from and network with women working in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields at prominent companies and organizations such as Boeing, Genentech, Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Waimanalo Health Center, Queens Health Center, and Intuitive Surgical Robotics! There will be a 3-D printer for printing teeth, as well as a special surgical robotics presentation from Dr. Mihae Yu of the John A Burns School of Medicine! STEM teachers and counselors are also invited to register and sit in on their choice of sessions.

The completely FREE event includes lunch. It’s open to public and private school girls in grades 9 to 12 as well as undergraduate female students. For more information and to register, go to the STEM Symposium website.
