P-20 GENE-IUSES
Staff from the Gene-ius Day program attended the 2018 Hawaii P-20 Middle School Career Industry Fair held on February 15 at the Hawaii Convention Center. The Gene-ius Day booth introduced students to exciting career pathways in agriculture. It included interactive activities that gave them a small glimpse into a scientist’s role in agriculture. The event was attended by 900 students from nine middle schools on O‘ahu. The Gene-ius Day program was developed by Ania Wieczorek (TPSS) in 2006 and now reaches more than 2,500 students in grades K–12 each year through school field trips, Saturday and summer programs, and outreach events.
