Do you identify as a Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander student? Are you graduating this spring or graduate last fall? Then head over to the Art Auditorium on UHM campus on Thursday, May 11, to celebrate Pasifika excellence at this year’s Pacific graduation ceremony. Jointly hosted by the Pan-Pacific Association and the Center of Pacific Island Studies, the Pacific graduation ceremony is a place for students, their friends and family to celebrate the success and achievements of Pasifika students during their time at UH.
Graduates will be honored with a certificate at the ceremony and Pasifika culture will be celebrated throughout the evening by a variety of speakers and cultural performances.
“Pac Grad is meant to be a celebration of all Pasifika identities in higher education, in a way that we do not often see happening in our daily campus life,” says Foley Pfalzgraf, Center for Pacific Island Studies Outreach Director. “Come celebrate Pasifika excellence with us!”
Those who wish to participate should register by April 28 by filling out this form. Students are welcome to wear Aloha attire and cultural garments – or whatever they feel the most comfortable in. For any questions, contact panpacificassociation@gmail.com.
